Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information

Last updated 12 October 2026

California privacy law provides certain consumers with the right to limit a business's use and disclosure of sensitive personal information in certain circumstances.

ApplyNexo does not currently use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require us to provide a right to limit under applicable California privacy law. As a result, there is currently no separate setting you need to activate to limit the use of sensitive personal information on ApplyNexo.

What Is Sensitive Personal Information?

Under California law, certain categories of personal information may be considered sensitive personal information. Depending on the circumstances, these categories can include information such as:

  • Social Security, driver's license, state identification card, and passport numbers;
  • account credentials and certain financial account information;
  • precise geolocation;
  • racial or ethnic origin;
  • religious or philosophical beliefs;
  • union membership;
  • certain communications where the business is not the intended recipient;
  • genetic data;
  • certain biometric information used for identification;
  • information concerning a person's health; and
  • information concerning a person's sex life or sexual orientation.

The legal definition of sensitive personal information is determined by applicable law and may change over time.

Location Information

ApplyNexo may use an IP address or information derived from an IP address to estimate a user's general geographic area, such as country, region, or city. We may use this information to provide relevant job-search results, understand how our website is used, maintain security, or operate our services.

Approximate geographic information is different from the “precise geolocation” defined as sensitive personal information under California law.

ApplyNexo does not currently request access to your device's GPS or other device-based precise-location services for the purpose of determining your precise physical location.

Job Searches

Information that you enter into ApplyNexo's search features may be processed and retained as described in our Privacy Policy.

We recommend that you do not enter unnecessary sensitive personal information into job-search fields. For example, you should not enter Social Security numbers, financial account information, medical records, government identification numbers, passwords, or other confidential information into a job-search field.

A job search may sometimes contain words that relate to a characteristic that could be sensitive depending on the circumstances. We do not intend to use job-search terms to infer sensitive characteristics about you or to build profiles based on sensitive personal information for advertising purposes.

Your Right to Limit

If our practices change and ApplyNexo begins using or disclosing sensitive personal information for purposes that give California consumers a right to limit such use or disclosure, we will provide the notices and methods for exercising that right as required by applicable law.

We may also update this page and our Privacy Policy to reflect material changes to our data practices.

Other Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and the laws that apply to you, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information.

For more information about what information ApplyNexo collects, how we use and disclose it, how long we retain it, and the privacy rights that may be available to you, please review our Privacy Policy.
